Realizing an urgent need in the county, members of the Christian faith community in Panama City, Florida, acted on the Call to be obedient to God’s Will by providing community development services to the low-income elderly and/or disabled homeowners.
Following the models of two other like-minded organizations in Florida, there will be three (3) part-time, paid staffers:
- Executive Director
- Business/Financial Administrator
- Project Manager
It is expected that the Executive Director and Business Administrator positions will eventually be full-time, and the Project Manager role will be a stipend-paid position, with hours that vary according to the prospective, and approved, project load. Several volunteer positions, and programs, will be identified and developed as the ministry grows. Community partnerships will also be forged. Funding will be accomplished through grants that are readily available for these activities, as well as through donations from churches, individuals, civic groups, businesses, etc. CROSSing Paths is an efficient and cost-effective way to provide volunteer services, as well as coordinate resources within the community, with the end result providing a consistent level of quality with a broad reach across our county.
Executive Director Pat Sabiston’s passion and Call to serve these populations have been confirmed by her pastor and church, family members and friends, as well as by service providers across our community. Volunteers from local churches will participate in the community redevelopment projects enhanced by the Jefferson Award-winning team of the “Hardly Able Construction Crew” (from Lynn Haven United Methodist Church).
